Adopted!

My Special Sponsor:  Kathy Pippig & the Furkin with wags and furry-armed hugs!

Lindy: Female 12 years old

The popcorn-loving Lindy is very obedient and an angel with dogs and kids of all ages.  But she’s mischievous and curious with cats.  She’s had many wonderful years; she’s been cared-for and well-loved, but her owner’s ill and needs to find a good home for her pet.  Lindy has tons of life and joy to offer her new owner – if you already have an application in with G.R.I.N., email adoption@grinrescue.org to see if Lindy may be the perfect fit for your home.  And if you’re thinking of adopting a Golden and envision this senior sweetheart as enhancing your life, fill out an application immediately!

Foster Update: 7/12/11
Lindy is doing great.  For being 12-years old you’d think she was a lot younger.  Lindy is so good with children of all ages.  She’s really good on a leash and likes the little walks we take around our backyard.  Lindy loves to be brushed and would let you do that all day if you wanted to.  Lindy is very intelligent and wise.  This Golden girl is really special.  Lindy takes dog treats very gently from your hand.  Lindy is just no trouble at all.  She’s also a very quiet dog.

Foster Update: 7/18/11
It's me, Lindy.   I really like my foster mom and dad, and they really like me. They say I’m “very good and a nice Golden girl." They laugh when I roll around on the grass in the back yard. I'm very good on a leash and I love to look out the window and watch all the beautiful birds that come to the bird feeder. I also like to watch TV. Foster dad brushes my hair almost every day, which I love very much. All of their neighbors know me now too, and they are all very nice to me. If any of the neighbors see me outside, they say "Hi, Lindy." I like to lie on the grass outside in the shade while foster mom and dad swing on their swing, which they do almost every night. Also, foster mom and dad's granddaughter visits every day. She reads books to  me all the time (I am a great listener), makes sure that I have water to drink, and kisses me hello and goodbye on my forehead every day. Foster mom says that I'm a "very affectionate and loving dog." I'm getting really good care here!

 Love, Lindy

P.S. Here are some new pictures. Foster mom says, “Oh, Lindy, look at your pretty, pretty face”!

Foster Update: 7/29/11
Lindy is an absolutely great dog!  Lindy loves to walk all over our back yard and to watch the birds as they come to our bird feeder.  Foster mom and dad laugh at how Lindy watches TV.  She is so intelligent and sweet, loving nothing more than to be brushed and petted.  She enjoys any attention she receives.  Although Lindy is a senior dog you wouldn’t know it because she acts a lot younger.  Her face is absolutely beautiful and her eyes are just so kind and dark.  She looks at a person or child with just so much love.  Her face tells it all and her eyes draw you in.  It’s as if she looks directly at you with an expression of thanks for helping her with anything.   She is very well-mannered.  Lindy needs a home with limited steps as she doesn’t like to go up and down a full flight.  She’s great on a leash and her foster family has never heard her bark, she’s so quiet.  Lindy is just the sweetest Golden girl!

Foster Update: 8/9/11
Hi,
It’s me, Lindy.  I’m really doing quite well at my foster home.  My foster parents took me for a bath and grooming the other day.  The ladies who bathed and groomed me kept telling me that I was a “very good girl.”  I really enjoyed the bath, it felt so good to get shampooed.  Everybody has been telling me that I “smell very good.”  The girls who groomed me said that they “fell in love” with me.  Of course, everybody says that, I hear that remark all the time and it makes me feel great!
My foster parents tell me that I’m getting around much better than when I first came into their home.  I’ve been walking around more.  I just love all of the attention anyone gives me.   I make my foster parents and anybody who visits their house laugh when they’re around me, they say I’m a comical kind of dog.  They laugh, never at me, but with me, especially when I roll around on my back in the grass in their backyard.
I’m a very appreciative dog.  Foster mom told some friends, who were visiting the other day, that I’m “the nicest Golden” she’s ever met.  What a compliment!  I love it when I’m surrounded by a lot of love.   I’m an older dog, a senior girl, but I don’t act like I’m old.  I’m very young at heart.  Foster dad says, “Boy, Lindy has a lot of spirit.”  Just because I’m older doesn’t mean that someone won’t adopt me.  I know that I’m going to find a good furever home that will show me a lot of affection, care, and respect.   I will give the family who adopts me a lot of love in return.
Well, talk to you later.  Love, Lindy

Remember Me

Bella

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
