Maisy’s terrific! She’s a sweetie, but she has a few treatable health issues that would make most grouchy, but not pleasant and loving Maisy. She came in as a stray; her skin is flakey and patchy and she is heartworm positive. Her foster home will keep her quiet while she recovers. This may be hard for the happy Golden; she loves kids, is fine with other dogs and enjoys chasing squirrels. And she ignores cats! She’s a smart gal; she knows several commands, enjoys a long walk…but does pull on her leash. You’ll fall for Maisy. Foster Update: 5/2/11 Everyone who meets Maisy falls in love with her immediately because she is so sweet! She has excellent manners and just wants to be loved and given belly rubs. If the resident Golden is getting attention, Maisy thinks nothing of nudging her way in for her share of the lovings too! Maisy thinks she is a great and mighty hunter and the squirrels in the neighborhood better take note! Foster Update: 6/4/2011 Maisy continues to impress! She is excellent on a leash, does great on walks, and loves to hunt for anything that moves in the back yard. She was a little hesitant about going in the crate but has learned that the crate is not punishment. She only goes in when we are leaving the house and gets let out as soon as we get back home. She craves attention for belly rubs and will follow you everywhere. She has dug a few holes in the back yard chasing chipmunks but if this is her only fault, it is an extremely minor one. She had surgery to remove a lump on her leg and never missed a beat, that area is healing extremely well. We are still working on her flaky skin issue, it is getting better but still not gone totally. Foster Update: 9/19/2011 Maisy has settled in extremely well to the household routine, she is an absolutely wonderful Golden. She loves to go for walks and made herself at home in the front seat of the car when we left to go hiking. Being by your side is her favorite spot, she just wants attention and to be loved. Maisy has become the protector of the back yard watching patiently for any small critters that dare to cross her path. |

Remember Me? Bella
Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.
I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
