Adopted!

My Special Sponsor:    Bill and Denice Osborne, in memory of Jake's Spice of Ginger (Jasper 1993-2007)

Jasper: Male 7 months old

Jasper came to G.R.I.N. via a shelter, but he was not a stray.  Rather his owner dropped him off, citing financial issues.  She left all his toys, shampoo, collars, leashes and other assorted necessities; clearly Jasper was cared for and loved.  She also taught him to ring a cowbell to alert her that it was his time to go out!  Pretty smart, our Jasper is.  And he’s loaded with energy.  A lucky adopter will have the time of their life with this charmer.  Due to his young age, the adopter will be required to attend obedience class with their new blonde stunner…but it’ll be fun!

 Foster Update: 12/23/11

Jasper is doing great in his foster home. He gets along well with the other Goldens and is quickly learning the routines. He likes to go outside and play but even more he likes to be with people. He has already learning to sit for petting and while waiting for his meals. He has mastered the golden trick of bumping your elbow to get some attention. Though he is young he is a quick learner. He likes to go for walks and is using a gentle leader right now. On our walks he shows interest in children and adults that we meet and seems very comfortable with both. Jasper will make a great family dog!

 Foster Update: 1/6/12

Jasper has become a true "snuggler". He loves to be close...sitting by your side or lying at your feet. He continues to enjoy playing with his foster brothers and has now learned about snow. He loves to run outside and will check the yard for the scent of anything that may have passed through. He is very good at sit and knows to give his paws when he comes in from outside so we can wipe off the mud. He also sits and waits when it is time to eat. He is doing better walking on his leash...loves to walk but does not try to pull as much. He enjoys carrying his stuffed toys around but has not tried to chew them up.  Jasper loves to meet people and will whine if not given the chance. He usually remembers to sit for petting but also quickly responds if a reminder is needed. Like a true Golden…he is a leaner!  He will be a great family dog!

fenceJasper needs to have a fenced environment and would benefit with some obedience training.schoolbus

Remember Me

Bella

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
