Rocky: Male 5 years old

Rocky’s owner relinquished him to a shelter; they were going into an apartment and couldn’t take their dog. Fortunately G.R.I.N. rescued him just in time; he was scheduled to be euthanized as he was not happy being crated. Can you blame him? He had been kenneled outdoors most of the time, and as a result he was very matted…and our vet partner discovered he is heartworm positive. He’ll be kept quiet and nursed back to health in foster care. Our transporter indicated that he approached her cautiously, but once he understood she was a friend, he let her rub his belly and played a good game of fetch with her. Rocky is going to be fine once he settles into the good life…that of being treated like a well-loved dog!

Rocky needs to have a fenced environment and would benefit with some obedience training.

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
