Bella: Female 11 months old

Bella’s going to be a year old soon, but don’t let that fool you – she’s still a puppy.  Her owner relinquished her because they were not well-versed or experienced in the Golden Puppy Energy Syndrome.  No, it’s not an official ailment, but it might as well be.  She’ll outgrow it, but until about the age of four, there are ways to deal with it.  Lots and lots of exercise, walks, proper chew toys and essential training classes will go a very long way to guide Bella through her adolescent years.  Not to mention attention and love.  She’s adorable - the hard work will be well worth your efforts – and Bella will appreciate it to!

Foster Update: 1/19/12

Bella is adjusting to her foster home.  She sleeps on a dog bed on the bedroom floor, goes in and out of her crate as she wishes, and is eating well.  She has lots of puppy in her and has ‘refashioned’ some leather shoes in her foster home and loves to play with toilet paper!  She is doing well with redirection to appropriate toys and things to chew.  She has been good with the resident cats and shares her toys and food with the resident dogs.  She has been very excited to see the young children who have visited and will jump all over them if allowed…which being young boys, they did!

Foster Update: 1/26/12

Bella is a sweet girl.  She is very excited and jumps when her foster family first comes home, but is quite content to lay around with the other dogs in the living room and relax.  She enjoys her daily walks.  She is very sweet and loving and enjoys being on your lap while she lays upside down to have her belly rubbed!  She gets along with the resident dogs and is starting to spend more time on the furniture, which is allowed in her foster’s house.  She starts the night sleeping on the bed with her foster family, but then moves to a dog bed on the floor.  Any family will love this sweet girl!

fence Bella needs to have a fenced environment and would benefit with some obedience training.schoolbus

Remember Me

Bella

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
