December 2006 - Bradi has found her forever home!  She has been adopted!

Bradi is the perfect golden!  She is extremely well-behaved, walks well on a leash, is very good in the car, and is good with kids, cats and dogs.  She is very calm and fits right in with no problem.  Her owner has a full plate with four children and a husband in the military overseas, so Bradi was sadly given up because she did not receive the attention she deserves.  Bradi is a bit overweight and snores because of it, but once she loses some weight, that may subside.  She is a keeper for someone looking for a mature companion.

Bradi was limping when we brought her in and upon further examination, it was discovered that she has a cruciate ligament rupture to her hind leg, which she has had for quite a long time.  Bradi will require surgery and a minimum of six weeks of hydro-therapy rehabilitation and then she should be good as new.  Her surgery and therapy will cost almost $2,000 on top of the expenses already incurred for a much needed grooming, dental cleaning, senior blood work and treatment of a urinary tract infection.

Bradi is such a wonderful dog, so full of life and such a sweetheart that GRIN felt we should do all we could to make her senior years as pain-free and enjoyable as possible.  She is active despite the pain she must be suffering and we want to see her run, play and chase those tennis balls she loves so much for several more years to come.

9/7/06 - Update from the foster family

On the home front, she is a sweetheart!  Our resident Golden will even let her lay next to him - this has never happened before with our fosters!  Bradi loves our children and gets along very well with other dogs - she still chases the cat, but I don't think this will be an on-going habit.  Over the Holiday we took Bradi to a Labor Day party.  She was the hit of the day and got along well with everyone including the host/hostess' Dalmation.

She is just a very good and sweet dog. Bradi listens (better than my children for sure!) and all you have to say is "No, Bradi" and she stops whatever it is she was doing wrong - which is usually just licking her stitches because she is just that perfect! Bradi does not get up on the furniture.  She is very patient and does not demand attention, but is so loving you can't help but be velcro with her! She does love to eat.  Great dog!!!

9/17/06 - Update from the foster family

Bradi has fit in our home like she's lived there forever.  I have noticed she is getting a little more pushy for the loving too, but she will just lay down and doesn't get underfoot like our resident Golden.  Bradi is still curious about our cat and sniffs her whenever Sarah will allow.  Sarah still won't come downstairs all the time, but I do see her once in awhile now, so they must be getting along better!

Bradi is just a wonderful dog who obeys on command, walks very well on a leash and will sit for you to put it on or when it's time to take it off.  Whenever you walk in the room or wake up, you can hear the "thump", "thump" of her tail waiting for you to come over and pet her!!  I can't say anything negative about Bradi.  She is just a sweetheart that will melt anyone's heart.

9/29/06 - Update from the foster family

At home she is such a joy! Even if she is anticipating a pat on the head, her tail goes wild. We have noticed that she will let us pet our resident golden without her butting in, but for some reason, she always wants to be the first one out the door for potty, walks, etc.

She loves her walks and will sit for you to put her leash on and take it off. Walks are the highlight of her day! As her leg is getting better, we notice her playing more with toys and even trying to get the resident golden to play - he is not one to play with other dogs, though!

Bradi would probably be better off in a home without cats. She tries to sniff our cat, Sarah, all the time and while I don't think she will hurt Sarah, I do think she may try to chase after her if we are not around.

Bradi is really a low maintenance golden. She loves to be petted, enjoys her meal time, loves her walks, but basically just lays in her spot and keeps her eyes on your every move - anticipating that pet, I think! She is just a sweetheart and the perfect golden!

10/23/06 - Update from the foster family

On the home front, Bradi is also doing fanstatic!  She has been with us almost eight weeks and the last two she is starting to run a little to get where she wants to go.  Still trying to play with the resident Golden, but he just isn't one to play with another dog, so Bradi will get her tug and try to get us to play!

Bradi has a way about her...you can't walk by without giving her a hug!  Even my 12-year-old daughter said, "Bradi, don't look at me with those beautiful eyes because I always have to stop and pet you!" If she's laying down and even anticipates that you might look her way or pet her, you can hear/see the tail "thump", "thump", "thump"!

Bradi would be content to just sit by you all day long if you are on the computer or working in the garden.  She is just a sweetheart.  Still loves her walks and is excellent on a leash.

Because she is so bushy, last week she went to get groomed and she looks even more gorgeous!!

Our cat Sarah, is still upstairs.  She comes down at night but she is still leary of Bradi; I think Bradi is more curious than anything.  Bradi LOVES other dogs and children!!

11/8/06 - Update from the foster family

Her snoring has subsided for some reason (hopefully because she is healthy, happy and has her energy back!)  She is just a wonderful dog who walks well on a leash, loves to eat but only eats dog food/biscuits and does not beg. She was a little chubby when she came to GRIN and gained a few pounds after her surgery, but she has lost the surgery weight and we are working on a few extra pounds too!  Luckily, walks are the highlight of her day!  She is just an awesome dog...but she does like to chase our cat.
