We love this Golden – ok, we love them all, but Chester’s special - he’s super sweet, gentle and friendly as can be! He was found as a stray and is now in G.R.I.N.’s care. He has medical issues that have been addressed. Our vet partner surgically removed several masses, he had a dental and due to a nasty urinary tract infection, he’s on meds to treat it quickly. This constant tail wager is a wonderful car companion, an easy walker, and oblivious to other canines. He’ll be a terrific addition to any home. If you cannot adopt Chester, consider sponsoring him to offset his medical expenses.

Foster Update: 7/9/12
If you look up the definition of sweet in the dictionary, you will see Chester’s picture! Not only is he sweet, but he loves everyone and everyone loves him! Chester doesn’t know a stranger and is always cheerful and wagging his tail looking for an opportunity for some loving. This boy is equal opportunity as he adores children, other dogs, and cats as well. Chester has been to the ‘spa’ and his coat is so soft and the spots where he was shaved are starting to grow back in. Chester does need to lose weight and is on an exercise program which he loves, in addition to his thyroid medication. He thoroughly loves his walks and is so happy when the leash goes on. He has a great energy level for an old man. He also enjoys car rides and a good roll on the grass. While Chester is not a swimmer, he does enjoy going to the lake while his foster brother swims and walks in the water and lays down to cool off. He has also enjoyed lying in the pool in his foster home with this hot weather. Chester likes sleeping in bed at night, but due to his size, does need a butt boost, but once up, enjoys snuggling. Chester does think he is a mighty hunter and nothing is safe outside from his hunting skills, including squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies, deer, and even a possum! He was so proud of himself when he ‘barked’ the deer out of the yard early one morning and he will stand forever if he could at the tree with the squirrels taunting him from above, though he most likely would be very surprised if he caught one!
