Shelby and Mandy, both with angel-like faces, were relinquished by their financially strapped owner. They both are getting much needed medical attention. They're excellent with other dogs, cats and kids. They are super nice Goldens, and are they ever attached to each other! They are very affectionate with all and take good care of each other - it is very touching to witness their bond! And know this about Shelby; she's a survivor…she was hit by a train several years ago and made it through hip surgery. Because of their relationship, we’d like to place them together in a forever home.
Foster Update: 1/14/13
Mandy & Shelby are double the fun, but not double the work! It’s great to see them play together and comfort each other. We’re still working through their skin issues but after several baths and combings later, their scratching and chewing has been reduced significantly. The beautiful weather has allowed them to run off some energy and it is so sweet to watch how they get all tangled up in each other and fall into a hard sleep once inside. They would do best in a home with minimum stairs as Shelby doesn’t have the strength to climb a full flight of stairs. They know basic cues, do well with other dogs and have no food or toy guarding. The two of them will fill an empty home immediately!
Foster Update: 2/14/13
We are at the five-week mark and their true personalities are emerging. Sweet Shelby’s tail bangs out a happy beat when she knows you’re talking about her and the whole time she’s eating. Mandy lets out a very lady-like roar when she is content. They both get along with foster brother Gus and make sure everyone gets their turn at ball. Recently they went to Gus’s obedience class where they met two new dogs. In no time all five were running around like old friends. Shelby’s skin condition has cleared up. Their coats are nearly back to healthy Golden beautiful. These girls are ready to go to their forever home. They will thank you by bringing a smile to your face everyday!
