G.R.I.N. tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants. |
| The average ages of our rescued goldens are between 1½ to 4 years old, however G.R.I.N. does occasionally receive puppies that are in need of a home. If you are only interested in adopting a puppy, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption. Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the puppy will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when G.R.I.N. does have puppies available. |

Available after 9/7Available for Sponsorship Athena: Female 6 years oldAthena’s owner adores her, but sadly has to part with her. Her living situation is going to change several times in short order— she is moving to California and her husband is stationed in Germany and soon to be deployed. She doesn’t feel it’s fair to move Athena cross country and then to Europe when his deployment is over. This pretty girl is active with a capital “A;” she is going to need plenty of exercise and attention, too. Athena’s playful…she enjoys a game of catch and a good Kong. She’s a smidge scared of storms, but she’s not destructive. Athena’s had allergies in the past, but they are controlled by a venison or salmon food. We need a really remarkable home for this gal. Her owner took the young Athena in after finding her abandoned in a ditch and in very poor condition. Athena is going to need extra-gentle loving through this transition…she is losing her first rescuer. |

Available for adoptionAvailable for Sponsorship Bailey: Female 7 years oldHey there, Bailey here. Do any of you suffer from allergies? If so, you’ll understand my dilemma. I am extremely sensitive and will need to be fed a special food - otherwise my skin reacts poorly. G.R.I.N. is taking me to an allergist, and with proper food and care, I should see and feel a major improvement within 6 months. I’m afraid of loud noises, like thunder, but I’m not destructive—I’m ladylike and just hide out ‘til the noise goes away. Ok, so that is the “bad” stuff. The good news is that I am really nice, if I do say so myself. I would love to be around kids and other dogs. And I certainly know how to behave in a car or on walks, which I hope to enjoy with you soon. I am at a great Golden age, not too young, not too old…just right! |

Adopted!Bruiser: Male 1.5 years oldBruiser is an owner relinquishment; they knew this youngster had too much energy for them. He was wonderful with their grandchildren and loves having another four-legged friend to play with! Bruiser may be shy at first, but he sure warms up quickly. He loves to roam, so a fence is a must for this young fella.

Adoption pending!Available for Sponsorship Cinnamon: Female 10 months oldCinnamon and her sis, Molly, came to us via a shelter. They had been turned in by the breeder; the person who purchased the dogs from her couldn’t keep them after losing their home, so they returned them. These poor girls have been moved around and just don’t know which end is up. Cinnamon is a tiny thing and sweet as pie, but is a little skittish at sights and sounds new to her. She would do well in a quieter environment, and will do best with school-age children or older. She would enjoy another small dog to keep her company. Perhaps what will benefit her best is a kind, gentle owner who will bestow time and attention on her! |

Available after 9/04Available for Sponsorship Dart: Male 3 years oldDart is one fine-looking Golden boy - he even has that special dark red fur. Poor Dart is dealing with issues that are a result of his being homeless. He has dry, flaky skin, infected ears and is underweight. He has been given antibiotics, and regular nutritious meals will help clear up these problems. But beware, his outer ears are distinctive. Dart is missing his entire right ear flap, exposing his ear canal, and his left ear flap is partially missing. Our vet partner feels that this is due to frostbite! And due to the fact that his ears are sensitive right now, he may be better in a home with older children. But please do not let this deter you from this kind, gentle boy. The hair on his ears has grown over the ears a bit, making the irregularity almost unnoticeable. Dart is cute as a button and will definitely be a great family addition. |

Adoption pendingAvailable for Sponsorship Harmony: Female 2 years oldHarmony and her traveling pal, Mariner, were recent strays and are now happily being spoiled in G.R.I.N. foster homes! Harmony is personality-plus—very, very entertaining. Our transport person had this to say about Harmony: “She is just the cutest little thing I've ever seen.” And that’s saying tons – she’s carpooled many of our Goldens! Be quick, because Harmony will have a permanent home to rest her head shortly. Oh and if you are looking for a pair of 4-legged fun, ask about Mariner, too. These medium-sized, dog and kid-loving angels are extremely attached and would love to stay together, if possible. |

Available for adoption-Update! Maddie: Female 8 years oldMaddie is a special girl. She has a seizure disorder and needs inexpensive daily meds to control them. Her owners were financially unable to purchase them, so they relinquished this gentle one. Maddie loves other dogs and will be fine with your cat, too. Because of her health, she may be better in a home with adults. She is a nice gal with good manners—she simply needs a loving owner who can care for her. It’ll make a world of difference for Maddie. |

Available for adoption-New Update! My Special Sponsor: Margaret Philip in memory of her beloved Casey Martini: Female 6 years oldMartini is an owner relinquishment; the family is getting ready for another baby and she is too high energy for them. Martini is a great girl and she loves kids and other high energy dogs. Verdict is still out on how she is with cats, but at this point, we don’t think she will do well with them. |
