Blitz: Male 1 year old
This boy will break your heart. He is extremely scared…shakes and cowers constantly. He’s scared of his own shadow! Yet, he is slowly warming up to people. The good news is G.R.I.N. has rescued him and will find him a loving home where he will lose that fear—and learn to trust again! Could that home be yours?
Update 03-19-2009:
Blitz has been limping since placed in his foster home so after x-rays and a reading from a specialist, it was discovered he has a cartilage problem in his left shoulder. Possible causes could be genetic, poor nutrition or growing too quickly. Blitz is being placed on exercise restrictions and will be under a rest period for the next six weeks. The veterinarian is hoping that once exercise is restricted the cartilage will heal on its own, if not surgery may be necessary. Check back for more updates!
Update 04-21-2009:
Blitz has been under exercise restriction and rest for the past few weeks. He is not showing any improvement, so it was decided to go forth with surgery at this time. Blitz is scheduled for his shoulder repair surgery on April 27th. Check back for updates!
Foster Update 05-07-2009:
Blitz is back at his foster home and recovering nicely. Blitz recently had his shoulder repaired. The specialist is very pleased with the results and anticipates a full recovery for Blitz! Blitz is on exercise restriction to encourage new cartilage growth. His foster mom sees a huge difference in him using his leg and putting his full weight on it. Check back for more updates and progress reports soon!
Blitz needs to have a fenced environment and would benefit with some obedience training.
