Travis is happily warming his foster parents’ hearts; he’s also the 50th G.R.I.N. rescue that they’ve cared for (thank you, McVan’s), so many have come before him. No worries, they have lots of love to give all Goldens! Travis has had a dental, his fleas were treated and his skin is on the mend - he’s afflicted with hot spots. He’s a good Golden and will make his new adopter very happy. He’s dog-friendly, too – he’s compatible with the McVan pack! Foster Update: 11/17/11 Travis is a wonderful boy. He is housebroken and trustworthy. He loves his daily walks as well as the resident Goldens. He is being trained to the Invisible Fence so he can get more exercise and fresh air! He goes into the crate willingly, but doesn’t need it. He loves to go for car rides. Foster Update: 12/20/11 Travis is a real jewel of a dog! He is a leaner at times, but is very polite when it comes to food or treats. Unlike most dogs who push their way as close to you as possible, he waits patiently at a small distance until the treat or food is presented to him. He stays off the furniture but he will let you know if he wants to get on the bed with you. However he will not get on the bed until he is told it is o.k. At night Travis sleeps mostly in his crate. We just leave the door open and he goes in and out as he pleases. We keep the crate covered so he has a nice den whenever he wants it. He is calm around the house and likes to curl up on a small rug or blanket. Travis loves his daily 2 mile walk and runs to get into our truck, not just for the walk, but to go anywhere. He rides nicely in the back seat. He always wants to go with us, but he listens well when we tell him he has to stay. He behaves so well that he has free run of the house. He is trained to the invisible fence goes out to do his business and then wants to come back in to be with us!

Remember Me? Bella
Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.
I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
