I've sent along some pictures of Sammie! You can tell he's still pretty nervous (not!)

As he usually ends up on his back while taking a nap! He has been great around the house, with visitors, and with our daughter's two dogs when they come to visit. The three of them have a great time! He does bark at strangers, and deer in the cornfield, which is fine. Once the "stranger" calls his name his tail starts to wag and he's back to being a big baby! He loves to go for walks and we've been walking early in the am (5:30) and at night, usually about 9:00. Loves the garden hose, in fact the other night he essentially moved himself over til he was standing in the mist of the stream coming out of the hose.

He is still a bit restless at night but getting better. At night he sleeps on the couch in the family room, as I've sneaked down to check a couple of times and he's stretched out and in deep sleep. Sue has tried to keep him off, but rather we turn the couch cushion over before we go to bed. She's trying to get him to sleep in our room or the hallway for when I'm away on business. He likes to nap in the laundry room which is dark and quiet and has a ceiling fan which makes the room nice and cool. He's eating fine and drinks a lot of water. We've had one case of separation anxiety where he took a few bites from a fabric craft doll. We've tried to not over-play our leaving or returning. We'll keep working with him as we don't want to crate him...

Again he's doing great and it is so great to have him around...he follows me to the barn to work and loves to ride with me on errands! Thanks again to both of you for your care and concern of Sammie and for the amazing work you do for G.R.I.N. and Goldens!

Please feel free to call or stop anytime!
Steve and Sue, and Sammie!

Remember Me

Bella

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
