Hello,

My name is Bud please read my story to learn more about me.

After having Siberian Huskies for the last 25 years, we decided to try a breed change when we recently lost our beloved Brandy. We have always had Goldens in our neighborhood and they always seemed to be great dogs. Since  we didn't want to go through the puppy stage at our age, we decided to pursue an adult rescue dog. Our daughter sent us the puppyfinder.com web site that listed G.R.I.N. as a rescue group who dealt only with Goldens. We contacted them and went through the process.

Buzz (Bud as we call him now) came into our home this past December. We were told we'd be fostering him for 2 weeks and would be contacted thereafter on whether or not we wanted to keep him. We called G.R.I.N. after 2 days and told them that there is no way we could ever give Bud up.

We knew almost immediately that he would be our forever dog. The previous owners did a fantastic job with Bud or as we call him, our "perfect dog". We could tell he came from a home with lots of love. Our friends and neighbors (and even our vet) cannot get over how well behaved and smart he is. It seems his whole goal in life is to please you and hear the words "good dog". He hears them a lot around here. He loves to put as many "toys" in his mouth as possible (4 is the current record) and parade them around the house. He loves fetching the ball in the yard, riding in the car, going to the pet store, going for walks and getting his head petted. He even likes his bath. Almost too good to be true.

We are looking forward to taking him on our boat this summer. We think he'll be an excellent boat dog. Bud loves all people and animals he has come in contact with. Bud is very loving to both of us, but really favors Rob as he never leaves his side, no matter where he is. We could not imagine life without him and would have a hundred Goldens if they were all like Bud. Thanks to G.R.I.N. for giving us such a wonderful Christmas present.

Remember Me

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
