Volunteering whiterowendann boysandy

G.R.I.N. has many committees on which you can volunteer your time and skills!  If you are interested in serving on one of the committees, please attend a membership meeting to learn more about the organization.  At the meeting, we’ll give you all the information you need to know about volunteering on a committee.  Or, if you prefer, email the Committee Head by clicking on the committee title.

Intake/Foster/Adoption

IFA Team is responsible for:

  • evaluating intakes (goldens being relinquished by their owners or referred to us by a local shelter) and transporting to a G.R.I.N. vet partner upon intake.

  • coordinating adoptions (reviewing applications and interviewing potential adopters)

  • managing foster homes (reviewing applications, interviewing potential foster homes and coordinating transport of goldens on their way to a foster home)

Sunshine

The Sunshine Committee responds to and acknowledges all death notices of goldens.

Fundraising Events / Store Events / Golden Gala

Fundraising is what keeps G.R.I.N. alive!  We have many fundraising events occurring through the year, most of which require the help of many volunteers and their goldens who are willing to donate a few weekend hours by manning our tables at rescue fairs, dog shows, PetSmart and Moochie stores.  All you need is a gift to gab!  We introduce our organization to interested parties at these events and answer any questions they may have about G.R.I.N. and our dogs.

Due to insurance and liability issues, all volunteers must be paid members.  Thank you for your interest! To start your membership, please visit our Membership Page.

G.R.I.N. Change Banks

We have many "golden" banks at local veterinarian offices, grooming salons and stores that collect spare change for the organization.

Historian

We catalog events that occur during the year.  You can send any material to archive to our PO Box.

Internet

As you can see, we have lots of information for our members and readers.  Our website is our key communication tool.  In fact, the majority of those adopting and fostering Goldens first view our website to learn more about the organization.

Newsletter

The Golden Seconds newsletter is a benefit for our current paid members and is provided as an electronic newsletter version or for those without computer access, members are mailed a copy.  Packed full of fun items and valuable information, the newsletter is published every six weeks to keep our members informed and up-to-date about G.R.I.N. functions, events, news and breed information.

Membership

Our Membership Committee confirms all new memberships and is responsible for our annual membership drive.

Publicity

The Publicity Committee is responsible for spreading the word about G.R.I.N. events to the local media.

Remember Me

Bella

Remember Me? Bella

Hi my name is Bella and I asked my mom to send some pictures to you. I am having a great time and love my new home and my new mom. I have been learning how to sit/stay, down/stay, come, off, leave it, walk on the leash, jump, touch, retrieve my ball, and lots more. This learning is fun but I still have trouble remembering it all the time.

I know I will get better it just takes practice. This weekend mom says I am going to learn how to stay in my yard. Then I will be able to run around and chase the ball without having a leash on. I am really good at barking and letting mom know I have to go outside. That's good, cause I get to enjoy the fresh air each time. I also have met my best friend Obie.
