GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Cooper was relinquished by his owner due to her long work hours and felt he deserved someone that could spend more time with him.  He is good with dogs and kids.  It is unknown about cats.  Cooper may have some allergy issues that we will be addressing. Check back for updates!

Foster Update: 9/19/24

Cooper wants nothing more than to play and to be loved: probably in that order.  He’s a very smart dog.  He grabs his leash when it’s time to go for a walk and carries it into the back yard.  He knows “Sit”, and sometimes “No”.  He is a rough and tumble guy who drinks out of the garden hose (and the toilet) and loves to chase his ball (although he’s reluctant to turn it back over).  He is fearless and goes up and down all stairs easily, including the backless basement steps.   He is good with other dogs, while not being intrusive upon them and their territory.  He will need some training to help him become the “Very Good Boy’ he wants to be.  He’d love a family where someone is at home with him much of the time and where there is a very big yard to run and play in.  Cooper is a dog who’ll love going hiking, fishing, maybe even swimming; he’s got lots of energy for playing.  Other than Kleenex and napkins, he’s not been destructive, and he has free range of his foster home, even when his foster family is gone.  Whoever provides Cooper with his forever home will have a faithful, constant companion.
