Foster Updates

Lola has been making the most of the cooler fall weather, and we've been keeping busy with walks, new parks, and little adventures to help her get comfortable exploring different places. One thing is very clear: Lola LOVES car rides! The excitement she gets when she realizes we're going somewhere is ridiculous in the best way. She is so ready for whatever adventure is waiting that you'd think we were heading somewhere truly extraordinary every single time. Honestly, in Lola's mind, we probably are!
We've been trying out new parks and places to walk, giving her opportunities to experience different surroundings, take in all the new smells, and build confidence in unfamiliar places. We also visited a new Sniffspot recently, and Lola had a wonderful time exploring. She sniffed around, investigated the area, and rolled around in the grass before finding a shady spot to relax and watch the world go by.
The girls also tried swimming for the first time! Lola was curious about the pool and, with a little coaxing, ventured into the water a few times. She wasn't deterred by her first very splashy swim and became more comfortable as she got a few tries in. She even willingly walked down the ramp to give it another go! She never quite decided that swimming was her new favorite hobby, though. After a few dips, she settled in on the pool deck and was content to hang out while everyone else continued swimming. Lola gave it a fair shot, and I think she's happy to leave the dock-diving career to Lady!
Back at home, Lola is our resident counter-surfing specialist, and you really cannot turn your back on her for a second. Keeping food, trash, and tempting items out of reach is a must with this girl. She's awfully clever about finding opportunities, so her future family will need to stay one step ahead of her.
Lola continues to enjoy the simple things, too. She's a fan of our movie nights, especially when popcorn is involved. It's been fun finding more ways to make everyday life an adventure for her.

Lady and Lola are doing great! They have really settled into the routine here and have become excellent coworkers, happily spending the workday napping nearby. They continue to love playing and hanging out with their resident dog brother, whether they are running around together, playing with toys, or simply relaxing in the same space. They have also really taken to toys and can usually be found pulling something new out of the toy bin to play with. Lola and Lady have become such a natural part of the household that sometimes it is easy to forget they are still waiting for their forever home. These two are just enjoying life and continuing to show us what sweet, goofy, lovable girls they are.

Over the last two weeks, Lola has continued to gain confidence and settle into her foster home routine. Now that she has recovered from her spay restrictions, she has been able to enjoy longer walks, more outdoor time, and plenty of opportunities to explore. Having an outlet for her energy has made a noticeable difference.
Lola’s personality has really started to shine as she settles in. She is a big, goofy, affectionate girl who absolutely thrives on people and attention. She loves being close to her humans and has no hesitation about making that known. She will lean into you, flop dramatically at your feet, or gently remind you that she is ready for more pets. One of her most on-brand moments is when she is fully stretched out on her back with her belly in the air. She is completely relaxed and content in those moments and shows just how comfortable she has become.
Her expressive “awoo” conversations are still a daily highlight, especially in the mornings or when she greets her people after time apart. She is very communicative and always eager to engage with whoever is around her.
Lola enjoys her time outside and is becoming more settled into a routine that includes both activity and rest. She is playful when engaged and just as happy to sprawl out and nap once she has had her fill of attention or exercise. Inside the home, she is learning the rhythm of daily life and is increasingly comfortable relaxing and settling down.
She has been coexisting well with the resident dog and continues to show that she can adjust to structured environments with consistency and time. She is still a strong and enthusiastic walker. She can become very focused on outdoor distractions, but she is making progress as she learns expectations and routine.
At her core, Lola is a joyful, affectionate, people-loving dog with a huge personality. She brings a lot of laughter and warmth into her foster home. She is the type of dog who wants to be part of everything you are doing.
With continued structure, activity, and love, Lola is going to make an incredibly fun and loyal companion.

Over the past few weeks, Lola has fully embraced being an adventure buddy. The moment she realizes she's going somewhere, she's ready to go. Whether it's a trip to a new park, a walk around the neighborhood, she is all in. Car rides have easily become one of her favorite activities, and she happily loads herself up, eager to see where the day takes her.
Lola has also continued to take new experiences in stride. She recently spent time around a cat and handled the introduction well. She was curious but remained easy to redirect and never became overly focused. She has also settled comfortably alongside the resident dog. They may not be playmates, but they coexist wonderfully and have become an easy part of each other's daily routine.
She's becoming more thoughtful on walks, taking time to sniff and explore instead of charging ahead through every new environment. She still has plenty to learn, but she's beginning to understand that adventures aren't a race.
Lola handled the Fourth of July fireworks well. The fireworks caught us by surprise during an early evening walk. While Lola was a little cautious about the unexpected noise, she finished her business, happily headed back inside, and settled comfortably for the rest of the evening.

Lola continues to settle into foster life and her personality is really starting to shine. One of her recent accomplishments was a follow-up vet visit, where she handled everything well. She was a bit wiggly and excited, but overall did a great job. True to her personality, she made it very clear she would have preferred a chair in the waiting room over the floor.
Lola is a very people-loving, affectionate girl who thrives on attention and connection. She is happiest when she is near her people and always ready for pets, praise, or interaction. One of her most endearing quirks is how quickly she responds to affection and praise. Even a quiet “good girl” can wake her from a dead sleep and immediately bring out a wagging tail and happy energy.
She is also very food motivated and enjoys just about any treat or enrichment, including trying new foods. She will politely beg for attention and snacks, although she has a little extra enthusiasm when it comes to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Lola has a playful, goofy personality that often makes people laugh. She can be a bit ditsy in her approach to the world, but she is also capable of learning cues and engaging when focused. She is very much a mix of smart and silly, with more enthusiasm than careful planning.
She loves being active and especially enjoys walks and car rides. While she is still learning leash manners and continues to need guidance, she is improving with consistency. She has energy and enjoys outings, but she is also very capable of settling and resting well once her needs are met.
At her core, Lola is a loving, funny, people-focused companion who wants to be included in daily life. She thrives on attention, praise, and shared experiences, and she has a natural ability to make people smile with her quirks and personality.

Lola is a big, lovable girl who is absolutely obsessed with people and attention. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be pet 24/7, she is your girl. She will happily bulldoze her way into your lap (all 90+ pounds of her) just to make sure she gets her fair share of love. She also has the cutest little “awoo” moments when she’s talking to you, which makes it very hard to say no to her.
Lola has settled in nicely in her foster home and is house trained and learning a routine. She does well relaxing in the home and can nap like a pro, but she also has bursts of energy and loves being outside. She enjoys sniffing around the yard and will likely love running and playing even more once she’s fully recovered from surgery.
She is very strong and still working on her leash manners. Walks can be challenging, especially if she spots a squirrel or bunny, as her prey drive kicks in and she will try to chase. She will need an adopter who can handle her strength and continue working on training.
Lola can be reactive when first meeting new dogs and is very protective of her sister, but she has shown that with time and slow introductions, she can learn to coexist. She is very bonded with Lady and takes comfort in having her nearby.
Overall, Lola is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog who just wants attention, consistency, and a family who will continue to guide her as she learns.
