Help GRIN Win Big for the Dogs!

As we enter the final week of the #EmbraceCLE Challenge, we want to share the story of Goldie—a sweet soul whose time with us was far too short, but whose impact will last forever.

Goldie came to GRIN as a critical emergency. At five years old, she weighed just 28 pounds. Yet despite the neglect her fragile body had endured, she showed nothing but pure, unconditional love. She was a gentle, sweet baby who simply loved to love.

Our deepest hope was to stabilize her and give her a second chance at life. Tragically, medical evaluations revealed severe congenital conditions—advanced kidney failure and a grade 5 heart murmur. At just five years old, her body had already aged too much, and the damage was far beyond what she could overcome.

The kindest, most compassionate gift we could give her was to let her go peacefully—surrounded by absolute devotion instead of pain.

While we didn’t get the time we wanted with Goldie, we are deeply grateful she didn’t leave this world alone. Because of your generosity, her final moments were filled with gentle hands, warm voices, and true love.

Not every GRIN story has the happy ending we fight for. But because of this incredible community, we can promise every dog that comes through our doors that they will be protected, loved, and supported every single step of the way.

Please help us continue this vital work. The #EmbraceCLE challenge runs through October 31st. Let’s honor Goldie’s memory by ensuring we are ready for the next emergency that needs us.

Success Story: Deena!

Deena was found on the side of a road by a Good Samaritan on one of the coldest nights of the year, just before Christmas. This kind soul reached out to No Pawz Left Behind, who stepped in to get her the emergency care she desperately needed. Soon after, they reached out to GRIN to assist with her continued care and treatment.

Success Story: Radar!

Radar came into GRIN’s care in April 2019 after being surrendered by a local puppy mill. The mill operator said he was blind in one eye and possibly the other. She had purchased him for breeding only shortly before, but his vision impairment meant he could not be used for breeding. As it turned out, Radar was destined for a much better job.
