GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

This super cool guy is a new intake! He’s a bundle of energy wrapped in a sweetheart! Our transporter and vet partners said he has so much get up and go but is very social. He is dog- and people-friendly, too. Due to his age and level of energy, he’ll need a training class or two—and it’ll benefit him. His adopter is going to adore him.

Update: 4/21/25

Charlie has made amazing progress since coming into GRIN's care back in January. He is lovely with other dogs and walks well on leash, using a harness.  He will pull if he sees something and gets excited but is very manageable.  Charlie can be a little headstrong so will require a traditional/physical fence.  We do not have a history on him with cats, but we suspect he wouldn't hurt one but would give chase.  He has learned a number of cues including sit, stay, wait, heel and down.  

Charlie likes to do just about anything; chase the ball, roll over for pets and play with toys.  He is a destroyer however of all things stuffy!  In traditional Golden style he loves to have a good time but also likes to snuggle and loves pets.  

Charlie would be fine as an only dog or could live happily in a home with other dogs.  Charlie is available for adoption now and will require an adopter who is willing to continue to work on training.

Update: 3/18/25

Since coming into GRIN's care Charlie has been spending some time with our positive trainer to work on basic manners and obedience.  He is strong and can be jumpy as he is so happy and when excited he struggles with self-control.  When the time comes Charlie will need a family who is willing to continue to work on training.  Charlie has a big personality and an even bigger heart.  This adventurous boy is always up for some fun!  Stay tuned for more updates on Charlie as he is a work in progress!

Update: 1/29/25

Hi there!  I am Charlie, a young Golden Retriever that came to GRIN after my people were no longer able to care for me.  I'm told I am a super nice dog but like most young Goldens, full of energy.  I have lots of things to learn, basic obedience and not to jump on people when I am excited.  I am house trained, neutered, and up to date on all my vaccines. Currently I am in the care of a positive trainer who is helping me learn lots of new things.  Stay tuned for updates!
