GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Adoption pending!

The sweetest senior boy! He is active and would love walks. He was treated to a dental so his smile will light up the room. We adore him and hope to find him a great home soon!

Foster Update: 6/6/25

Meet Buddy! A 12-year-old ball of love and cuddles with the walking energy of a 6-year-old! After a thorough examination at the vet, it was discovered that Buddy was not neutered nor vaccinated in his past life, but this was quickly resolved thanks to our friends at West Park. Buddy has some healing skin lesions, mainly on his rear end. He was also found to have Hookworms and Whipworms, for which he is currently taking medication for. Additionally, he is Lyme positive and currently on his antibiotic regimen. He takes all medicines very well! On the vet’s behavioral assessment, they commented: “very sweet and loving.” This holds true indefinitely.

Buddy walks very well on a leash & harness, but don’t be fooled by his age. He loves long walks and values time spent outside. With assistance entering a car, he rides incredibly well. You’ll likely find him sitting in the back seat looking longingly out the window. He has never been crated and is not fond of exploring the crate on his own. He prefers to lay on a cool surface, such as wooden floors. He knows simple cues such as sit, paw, and lay down. He is easily redirectable with encouragement. He’s not very food motivated but as he is getting acclimated to his new foster home, he is starting to eat better.

Buddy’s favorite past time is meeting new friends. He is incredibly loving and welcoming toward new adults he meets, immediately placing his body weight against whoever is petting him. He is very friendly with other dogs without attempting to chase/play too hard.

Don’t be fooled by Buddy’s age. He is 12 years young with much more energy and life to live. He is ready to be adopted by a loving home who shares his compassion and passion for snuggles and strolls.
