GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Hi! I’m Tanner. I’m new around here, and I’m pleased to meet you. I am a bit of a scaredy-cat—afraid of things like the leash steps, doorways, and not a fan of walks. I’m hoping my new owner will adore me, teach me many things, and help me get over my fears. I am going to need hip surgery but once that’s handled, I’ll be good to go. I’m good with other dogs and have been around kids before. I just need a ton of TLC, but I have a great personality—so let’s give it a go, we could be a good team!

Update: 9/15/25

Tanner arrived fearful, but his confidence is improving thanks to help and direction provided by GRIN’s positive reinforcement trainer.  Tanner is awaiting surgery to address his broken hip which is scheduled for September 19th.

Given his hip problem we are trying to keep his activity level to a minimum.  He stays busy playing with toys and finding enrichment with his Lickimat, stuffed ball, and puzzles.  Tanner is such an endearing pup who loves to carry his toys and blankie around.  He still has moments of fear but has made amazing progress.

Please keep this sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers as his surgery date approaches.  We will keep you posted on this sweet boy’s progress post-surgery.
