GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Chester came to us as a breeder surrender. Chester had a dental along with all his other vetting. He was severely matted so he had to have a bath and be shaved. He’s going to a foster home who will provide updates on this beautiful cream Golden.

Foster Update: 10/2/25

Hi there! Chester here!   When I first came to GRIN I was matted and covered in fleas and ticks, so I had to get a full body shave, but now my fur is growing back nicely.  I am settling into life in a home with humans and other dogs.   I get fed two times a day like clockwork and get treats when I do a good job.  I have a bed and crate to sleep in, though I am not a fan of the crate, so I stay in a gated area.  I do not like being away from my humans and tend to let them know by whining or barking.   My resident sisters are helping me learn all the tricks to get treats and pets from my humans.  I like to chew on lamb horns and other things in the house, sometimes I chew on things I should not.  My potty training is a work in progress, but I am getting better at letting my humans know when I must go out.  I do love attention/pets and get very jealous of the resident dogs, so I butt in like a bull in a china shop to get pets.  I have learned to go up and down stairs which is so much fun, especially coming down. I like to skip the last two steps and sometimes flop on the floor.  My human is helping me learn to walk with a harness and leash…that is fun.  I love meeting new people and other dogs, but I need to work on manners and not jump.  My manners are a work in progress, but each day I get better.  Sometimes, I just like to be goofy by running like crazy, jumping, rolling and playing with the resident dogs. My foster mom says I am a love bug and a bit of a goof.  I will be looking for my furever home soon, so if you are looking for a big goofy, love bug of a dog, I am your guy!   Love ya, Chester
