GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Welcome to GRIN Sparky! This sweet old man is just a chill guy! He's in foster care where he's doing well--he even likes the resident cats. Stay tuned for more on this wonderful guy.

Foster Update: 12/17/25

Sparky has completely stolen our hearts, and the hearts of everyone he meets.  Despite everything he has been through, he is the sweetest loving soul.  Every morning when the alarm goes off, he greets us with big tail wags and his adorable, crooked smile. He has a softness that feels like pure gratitude. Sparky has come a long way since he first arrived in his foster home in September.  He would hide in the corner nose first. Now he wants to be with his foster family and sits lovingly by their side. He is nervous around some people but will warm up with gentle encouragement. Sometimes when out walking he will just lay down and look up at me as if he is unsure if it is ok to continue. We are working on that and helping him build his confidence. Every day he shows a little more trust and a little more courage. He loves his toy bird that chirps and carries it around gently taking care of it. His best friend is a cat named Weezie. Sparky and Weezie love to cuddle and play with the toy bird. He is doing remarkably well for his age and health problems. My heart breaks when I pat him on the head and feel his ears that are extremely thick with scar tissue from years of neglect, but they don't seem to cause him any pain. He takes lots of naps but is eager to get up for walks and treats. My heart melts when he leans in for love as if he knows he is finally safe. We are honored to give him the comfort, peace and love that he deserves.
