GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Needs to have a fenced environment and would benefit from obedience training. schoolbus

Millie came to us from a breeder. This short, stocky, little, chubby girl is a complete doll! She rode good in the crate and walks good on leash. Someone will be getting a really awesome girl.

Millie has been making progress in her foster home! She loves her crate & dog bed; they are her safe space & loves to play in the yard with the resident dog. They run and chase each other. Millie is obsessed with nose diving into the snow & is at her happiest when she’s outside. She has found comfort in following the resident dogs’ lead.

Foster Update: 2/16/26

Millie is doing amazingly! She loves to hang out and be with her people. Millie loves being petted and snuggling after a long day of being a couch potato (even though her legs are too short and she can’t jump on the sofa). When guests come over, it takes Millie 10-20 minutes to warm up but once she’s comfortable, Millie will demand pets from the guest. Most recently we had friends/family over and Millie was smiling ear to ear! She loved all the attention and belly rubs.

Millie has slowly shown her “goldens love food” side! She likes eggs, blueberries, strawberries, carrots and will bunny hop around for apples and bananas!

Millie can be anxious at times but overall, she is a very calm girl that just wants to be with her people and have yummy snacks. She would do best in a home with another confident dog as she prefers to follow the lead of her foster brother.

Foster Update: 12/15/25

Millie is different dog inside her foster home. She doesn’t like the tv, fridge, the noise from the toaster and hasn’t tried going up the stairs yet. She’s getting more confident in leaving her safe space and is just beginning to move from room to sniff around the house. Millie really wants to be part of the action but is nervous, mainly pacing between her safe space & whenever her foster family is in the house. Yesterday was the first time she explored every room on the main floor. She was so brave! She’s been extremely cautious around her foster dad, but he’s been working hard with her and she’s starting to come around.  Millie’s very vocal too! If she’s alone and thinks her foster family is home, she will howl & when they come home, she barks.

Millie is beginning to eat without issues and will need time to gain her confidence in the house. She does best with a routine so that she can predict what comes next.
