GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Lady is an owner relinquishment. They are moving and are unable to take their dogs with them. Lady is a sweet girl and kind. She gets along well with other dogs and adores being with people. She has been vetted, is being treated for ear infections. She’s on her way to her foster home.

Foster Update: 7/10/26

Lady has really found her happy place over the past few weeks, and it turns out that happy place is anywhere she has room to run. She recently visited a few SniffSpots and watching her explore was one of the highlights of her foster journey. She spent hours racing through open fields, following interesting scents, splashing through the pool, playing with Lola, and checking back in before heading off to investigate something new. Giving her the freedom to explore in a safe space brings out the very best in her.

She has also continued to surprise us with how well she adapts to new situations. She recently met a cat and, while she was certainly interested, she remained redirectable and settled much more quickly than expected.

One of the sweetest surprises has been the relationship she has developed with the resident dog. While she still loves rough housing with Lola, she has learned that her older foster brother enjoys a quieter pace. She often seeks him out simply to lie beside him, share a bed, or quietly follow him around the house. It has been wonderful to watch her naturally adjust her energy depending on the dog she is with.

She has continued making steady progress on walks. Wildlife is still exciting, but she checks in more often, redirects more easily, and has become much more manageable on leash. She still has plenty of energy to burn, but once she's had the chance to exercise, she settles beautifully and is perfectly content relaxing with her people.

Foster Update: 6/19/26

Lady continues to settle into foster life and is really starting to show her full personality. One of her biggest accomplishments recently was a follow-up vet visit, where she handled everything like a champ. While she was understandably a little nervous, she behaved beautifully and impressed everyone with her manners. She has also become much more comfortable getting in and out of the car and has done well meeting new people, happily accepting attention and affection from her growing fan club.

She has also shown a very sweet bond with the resident dog. One of the most surprising developments has been how often she seeks him out to relax beside him, showing a softer, more settled side of her personality.

Lady is playful, expressive, and full of energy. She still enjoys bursts of zoomies and is surprisingly athletic, but she also settles well once she has had her exercise and attention. She loves toys, bones, and window watching, and can easily entertain herself while still checking in for affection.

She is highly intelligent and eager to engage while she can still be a little unsure in new situations, she is brave, learning quickly, and continues to grow in confidence.

Lady would likely thrive in an active home that enjoys including their dog in daily life and adventures. She has the personality of a true companion dog and would make a wonderful hiking buddy, neighborhood walking partner, or tag-along for outings. She enjoys being part of the action and would be happiest with a family who sees her as part of their everyday rhythm.

Foster Update: 6/1/26

Over the last two weeks, Lady has continued to gain confidence and settle into her foster home routine. Now that she has recovered from her spay restrictions, she has been able to enjoy longer walks, more outdoor time, and plenty of opportunities to explore. Having an outlet for her energy has made a noticeable difference, and she is becoming more relaxed and comfortable each day.

One of the biggest improvements has been her ability to settle in the home. While she still likes to know where her people are, she is becoming more confident navigating her environment and has adjusted well to the household routine. She has also fully integrated with the resident dog and is coexisting nicely, which is a huge accomplishment considering how overwhelmed she was when she first arrived.

Lady's playful side is becoming more apparent as she settles in. She continues to be an excellent fetch partner and has started enjoying enrichment activities, toys, and outdoor adventures even more. A recent favorite has been investigating the kiddie pool, where she cautiously tested the water before deciding it might actually be fun. When she's excited, she does the cutest little hops and stomps that perfectly capture her joyful personality.

She remains a very active and intelligent dog who loves having a job to do, especially if it involves using her nose. Her prey drive is still strong, and she can become very focused on wildlife, but she is learning more about the world around her every day. She continues to show tremendous potential and has made steady progress with confidence, routine, and overall adjustment.

At the end of the day, Lady is a loving companion who enjoys being near her people, exploring the outdoors, and then settling in for a well-earned nap. It has been wonderful watching her personality continue to emerge as she learns that she is safe, loved, and home.

Foster Update: 5/18/26

Lady is an incredibly sweet, loving girl who just wants to be close to her people. Once she feels comfortable, her gentle and affectionate personality really shines through. She has the softest demeanor and will happily soak up all the pets and attention you’re willing to give.

She absolutely loves being outside and is always on a mission to sniff and explore. Watching her track scents around the yard is one of her favorite things, and she could spend hours investigating every little smell. She also LOVES playing fetch and is great about bringing the ball right back and dropping it for you, ready for the next throw.

Lady is a big, strong girl. On walks, she can be very determined and powerful, especially when she picks up on a scent or sees something she wants to chase. She will need someone who can physically handle her strength and continue working on leash skills.

She is very bonded with her sister, Lola, and often looks to her for comfort and reassurance. The two of them are very connected, and it’s clear how much they rely on each other.

Lady is still learning how to fully relax in a new environment and can be a bit sensitive at times, but she is already making progress and starting to settle into a routine. With patience, consistency, and a calm home, Lady will continue to build confidence and show more of her loving personality every day.

She does have a high prey drive and gets very focused on smells and movement, especially outside, so she will need continued guidance, structure, and training. But at her core, Lady is a truly sweet, affectionate girl who just wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.
