GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

What? A Berner? Yes indeed. GRIN welcomes Lola as her family situation changed. She is the sibling to Golden Lady, who they relinquished as well. Lola is sweet, friendly, and a good dog. She’s also very good with children and has been with a cat without issues. Lola knows some commands but would enjoy training. Stay tuned for updates.

Foster Update: 6/1/26

Over the last two weeks, Lola has continued to gain confidence and settle into her foster home routine. Now that she has recovered from her spay restrictions, she has been able to enjoy longer walks, more outdoor time, and plenty of opportunities to explore. Having an outlet for her energy has made a noticeable difference.

Lola’s personality has really started to shine as she settles in. She is a big, goofy, affectionate girl who absolutely thrives on people and attention. She loves being close to her humans and has no hesitation about making that known. She will lean into you, flop dramatically at your feet, or gently remind you that she is ready for more pets. One of her most on-brand moments is when she is fully stretched out on her back with her belly in the air. She is completely relaxed and content in those moments and shows just how comfortable she has become.

Her expressive “awoo” conversations are still a daily highlight, especially in the mornings or when she greets her people after time apart. She is very communicative and always eager to engage with whoever is around her.

Lola enjoys her time outside and is becoming more settled into a routine that includes both activity and rest. She is playful when engaged and just as happy to sprawl out and nap once she has had her fill of attention or exercise. Inside the home, she is learning the rhythm of daily life and is increasingly comfortable relaxing and settling down.

She has been coexisting well with the resident dog and continues to show that she can adjust to structured environments with consistency and time. She is still a strong and enthusiastic walker. She can become very focused on outdoor distractions, but she is making progress as she learns expectations and routine.

At her core, Lola is a joyful, affectionate, people-loving dog with a huge personality. She brings a lot of laughter and warmth into her foster home. She is the type of dog who wants to be part of everything you are doing.

With continued structure, activity, and love, Lola is going to make an incredibly fun and loyal companion.

Foster Update: 5/18/26

Lola is a big, lovable girl who is absolutely obsessed with people and attention. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be pet 24/7, she is your girl. She will happily bulldoze her way into your lap (all 90+ pounds of her) just to make sure she gets her fair share of love. She also has the cutest little “awoo” moments when she’s talking to you, which makes it very hard to say no to her.

Lola has settled in nicely in her foster home and is house trained and learning a routine. She does well relaxing in the home and can nap like a pro, but she also has bursts of energy and loves being outside. She enjoys sniffing around the yard and will likely love running and playing even more once she’s fully recovered from surgery.

She is very strong and still working on her leash manners. Walks can be challenging, especially if she spots a squirrel or bunny, as her prey drive kicks in and she will try to chase. She will need an adopter who can handle her strength and continue working on training.

Lola can be reactive when first meeting new dogs and is very protective of her sister, but she has shown that with time and slow introductions, she can learn to coexist. She is very bonded with Lady and takes comfort in having her nearby.

Overall, Lola is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog who just wants attention, consistency, and a family who will continue to guide her as she learns.
