GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Can you say tall and lanky? What a handsome boy Beanstalk is! He’s extremely dog- and people-friendly, is a social butterfly, and is loving! This guy is a wonderful dog and terrific friend. He does have a “Happy Tail syndrome,” meaning his enthusiastic wagging can cause a little bleeding if it hits a hard surface repeatedly. He’s been vetted and is on his way to foster care.

Foster Update: 5/18/26

Beanstalk is a tall, lanky guy who has been through quite a journey over the last couple of weeks. This sweet boy arrived at a shelter as a stray before making his way to GRIN.

Beanstalk was diagnosed with Happy Tail Syndrome.  The problem? Beanstalk is just too happy. His tail wags with the force of a helicopter rotor, and he whipped it against his kennel so enthusiastically that it split open. He spent four days at one of GRIN’s veterinary partners receiving treatment.

Now safely in foster care, Beanstalk is healing like a champ. He’s rocking the cone of shame and even sporting a pair of basketball shorts to help keep that powerful tail under control. Through it all, he has remained the sweetest, happiest boy. He patiently lets his foster put his shorts on and off, tolerates his cone without complaint, and would happily spend all day curled up in her lap for cuddles.

Despite everything he’s endured, Beanstalk never stops smiling. His foster can’t wait to watch his true personality shine once he’s fully healed. Right now, his wounds are mending and he’s very thin and needs to gain some weight, but he’s on his way to becoming his best self,  one healthy, handsome, energetic smiling Golden!
